  • Southwest Virginia Tea Party! Paul Thurman of Virginia 9th District Code Red will lead the seminar where you can learn how to approach people, present positions and become more active and knowledgable in the community and district.  This will help get the Tea Party principals and beliefs out into the public.  The event will take place in the Chilhowie High School Auditorium, 1160 East Lee Highway Chilhowie, VA 24319 on Saturday July 17th from    9am - Noon.  Contact Ron Blevins, Southwest VA Tea Party Chairman, for more information at 276-685-6896.

  • Luchtime on the Lawn!!  It's back - the summer classic! Marion Downtown invites you to Lunchtime onthe Lawn - this year in June AND July! Hot dog, cold drink, and a bag of chips - your choice for only a buck! Weather permitting noon til 1pm at the Courthouse - see you downtown!!  Presented by The Bank of Marion, BVU Optinet and by Z103.5!
  • Adult High School Diploma Program! The Smyth County High School Diploma program will begin classes once again on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 5:30pm at the Smyth Career & Technology Center in Seven Mile Ford.  All Smyth Co. adults who wish to receive their high school diploma should call 646-5920 to register. A copy of your high school transcript is required.
  • Jam Session!  The Allison Gap Ruritan & Community Center are sponsoring a weekly Jamboree!  Jam sessions begin every Friday night at 6pm at the Allison Gap School House.  Anyone who plays and instrument, sings and bands are all welcome.  For more information call 276-496-7590.

    H1N1 (Swine) Flu Vaccinations are available!  It's safe and it's not too late!
